Red Rose

Red roses are red because of the presence of chemical pigments called anthocyanins within the petals. These pigments are part of a wider group of chemicals called flavonoids. Red roses signify deep love and affection. 

Pink Rose

Pink roses were the first colour rose cultivated since pink roses are most common in the wild. It denotes gratitude and grace. Also, do you know? Pink roses are a result of lower anthocyanin levels.

Orange Rose

Orange roses are a blend of yellow and red colour. This vibrant orange hue is attributed to the presence of carotenoid pigments in the petals. If you are gifting this to your loved ones, then know it denotes to fascination.

White Rose

White roses were among the first roses that naturally existed and are the known ancestors of modern roses. This pristine white colour is a result of the absence of pigments in the petals. White Roses denote innocence and new love.

Yellow Rose

Yellow roses were first found growing wild in the Middle East in the 18th century. Eventually, these cross-bred both naturally and unnaturally, resulting in various species of yellow roses being created. The colour is primarily due to the presence of flavonoids in the petals. Purple Rose

Purple roses were the product of cross-breeding European roses with varieties introduced from China. The existence of natural pigments, anthocyanins responsible for yellow and orange colours and carotenoids for pink and red, in roses, made it possible to produce purple roses. Blue Rose

Blue roses do not exist nat nature, as roses lack the specific gene that can produce a 'true blue' colour. Blue roses are created by dyeing white roses. The first rose to contain blue pigment was developed by a Japanese company, Suntory. What does it denote? Mystery!
